Responsible for designing the high voltage propulsion system of the electric powered eFlyer 2 aircraft •Design responsibilities included modeling the high voltage sub-systems utilizing CAD NX, TeamCenter, creating wiring diagrams in Mentor Graphics Capital Logic, and creating test bench plans for these sub-systems •Specific sub-systems that I assisted in design includes the energy distribution system, power distribution unit, manual service disconnect, and electrical routing in the aircraft •Created a way to control the energy distribution system by designing a printed circuit board (PCB) using KiCad •Designed electrical wiring routing in the aircraft to meet EWIS standards •Conducted tests on the electric motor by monitoring the RS485 and CAN communication signals and functional testing the motor up to 2650rpm supplying 750VDC •Supported bench testing by designing and assembling harnesses and enclosures defined within the test plans •Defined P.O. requests for parts and tooling while coordinating with supply chain to optimize costs and lead times •Orchestrated Company design reviews detailing the sub-systems I worked on •Designed HV systems around FAA guidance in an effort to meet DO-160, RGLs, ADs, CFRs, etc. guidelines •Created vendor item control drawings (VICDs) for vendor parts definition to be ordered •Collaborated with multiple vendors and suppliers to find components that offered solutions to design problems
