About Trevor Smick
After high school, I took a gap year to save money for school, avoid going to college during the peak of COVID, and figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I worked full-time as a laborer in construction, hauling around lumber and getting covered in insulation while tearing down nasty old bathrooms. The long days and demanding physical work tested my fortitude but also instilled in me a strong sense of grit, resilience, and hard work. I figured out fast that I wanted to work with my brain instead of my back. The lessons I learned during those 15 months have stayed with me, shaping how I tackled college and empowering me to seize every opportunity to the fullest. As a Sales & Trading Summer Analyst at Citigroup, I worked across rates exotic options, CMBS trading, and equities advisory, analyzing complex financial products and pitching trading strategies. I’ll be returning full-time to Citigroup, eager to build on the skills and insights I gained during my internship.
