Grand Chief, Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta @Treaty 8 First Nations Of Alberta

I serve as the Grand Chief of Treaty 8 First Nations of Alberta, advocating for Treaty rights, inherent sovereignty, and Nation-to-Nation relationships with federal and provincial governments. My work focuses on protecting the Treaties, challenging harmful legislation, and promoting economic reconciliation through unified advocacy and direct negotiation. Previously, as Chief of Beaver First Nation, I led efforts to bring the Nation out of co-management, successfully renegotiated long-standing underfunded agreements, and created opportunities for local economic growth. This included establishing a band-owned company, building partnerships in the forestry sector, and developing farming and cattle operations to enhance food security and sustainability. My leadership is rooted in Treaty, community strength, and long-term Nation-building.
