ABOUT TREVOR DAVIES
CEO of BC School Trustees Association where I am proud to work with an amazing staff team and a committed Board of Directors to advance issues of public education. Member of the board of directors for Pacific Blue Cross. Experienced leader with a passion for governance, investments and all things digital. Expert in corporate social responsibility. Strong believer in building systems for success and continuous improvement. Former Secretary-Treasurer (CFO) of British Columbia\'s largest union, CUPE BC. I started my working life to become a Fire Fighter and discovered an interest in workplace health and safety. A temporary opportunity turned into a career in municipal government. While working as a safety professional with prevention and compensation responsibilities, I began a second career in labour relations. As a union local President I was responsible for negotiating collective agreements, resolving grievances and mediating disputes. In addition, I led an executive board and managed the union office and staff. This experience opened doors to pension trusteeship, where I discovered an interest in good governance, investments, technology and a focus on the future. In 2015 I was elected into the Secretary-Treasurer role of CUPE BC. As ST of BC\'s largest union, I oversaw all financial, administration and office staff responsibilities. I was involved in all stakeholder relations, strategic planning and good governance of the provincial executive board. I joined the board of directors of Pacific Blue Cross in 2018, where I currently chair the Risk committee. I am especially proud to contribute to the health and well being of British Columbians. In 2024 I joined the BCSTA and have been enjoying every minute since!
