Currently managing the offer of bite size training to industry sectors arranging specialist training and facilitating the use of ECMS centres geared towards manufacturing and engineering. The Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills is an £11m flagship training facility based in the Black Country. In response to gaps in skills and provision highlighted by the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership, the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills will deliver specialist training and short courses as part of a collaboration between six major organisations.Growing the region’s economyRegional partners, including the University of Wolverhampton, trade associations, Dudley College and Black Country LEP, are working together on the development of the Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills, investing over £12 million in total to drive the Black Country’s economic prosperity forward.ECMS helps employers grow the best talent, providing great training and skills development in the newly built hub.The Elite Centre’s hub will be based at the University of Wolverhampton’s new Springfield Campus, a multi-million pound development regenerating a brownfield site into a national centre of excellence for construction and the built environment.The ‘hub and spoke’ model will see equipment and facilities being installed across four sites, ensuring comprehensive cover across the Black Country to efficiently upskill the region’s workforce.Springfield CampusThe University of Wolverhampton have invested £100 million into the Springfield Campus which will be homed to the architecture and built environment Super-campus. Also home to ECMS hub the new campus will be thriving as it becomes the UK centre of excellence, making a positive impact on the Black Country growth.The National Foundry Training Centre is the first of it’s kind in the UK. A purpose built training centre housing the latest foundry technology to train the future foundry operators, engineers and technicians.The built comprises of a range of facilities and room functions including a sand lab, IT suite with industry specific software, Foundry and pattern workshop as well as teaching rooms.
