Eberspacher is an international automotive supplier with around 80 locations in 29 countries. Customers include almost all major manufacturers of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. It is one of the leading system developers and suppliers of exhaust technology, vehicle heaters and air-conditioning systems worldwide and is also involved in automotive electronics for electronic networking in the vehicles. As Procurement and Supply Chain Manager at Eberspächer UK I have the responsibility for all aspects of purchasing, production operations and supply chain. Eberspächer is both a manufacturing site and a distribution hub aimed at supporting various industries and requirements. Consequently this involves hybrid supply chain management, balancing an agile approach to distribution, with a lean JiT approach to the manufacturing section. Our operation is tailored to providing supply chain solutions via international and UK suppliers to facilitate Eberspacher’s service offering to Automotive OEM’s, Military markets and civil engineering customers. Due to this variety we are the most flexible and diverse of the Climate Control Division. Being responsible for cost estimation, sourcing, lifecycle management, vendor QMS management, cost control, scheduling, production, inventory management and export control we can ensure that Procurement and Supply Chain is central to the organisation. Whilst at Eberspächer UK I have become the main point of contact in the UK for SAP support, for all modules.Following Brexit the logistics function of Import/Export control also became part of supply chain, as a result we now monitor and control the flow of of goods between the UK and ROW per annum. Ensuring adherence to ever changing legislation and administration of a HMRC approved and audited management system.
