Attains on budget and on time projects, while achieving a safe working environment. Experienced in balanced and underbalanced drilling together with water based and invert mud programs. Extended reach drilling. Leads multifunctional teams, facilitates team development, and effective interaction with executive management.Overview: Hired to manage drilling operations on location for one of the leading independent oil & natural gas exploration and production companies in the USA, with an oil focused asset base. Ensures rig activities are carried out safely and according to operator and contractor’s rules and regulations. Work closely with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies. Key Responsibilities & Contributions:• In charge of monitoring daily drilling activities and operation costs of the drilling program, reviews and monitors Extended reach Drilling Programs, together with water and oil based mud programs, balanced & underbalanced wells. Work to optimize drilling performance for under budget and successfully completed wells.• Use scheduling and communication skills to ensure that all personnel are lined up and on location for job tasks. • Continually monitor daily drilling and operation costs of the drilling program, identifying opportunities to optimize cost and efficiency of drilling and exploration operations. • Apply technical, trouble shooting and analytical problem-solving skills to quickly resolve down hole problems as required, addressing a variety of issues, from well control of gas, water flows, H2s & lost circulation.
