Power Supply: Work with power and gas supply teams to service our forecasted resource needs under the IRP, drafting and negotiating contracts with accepted partners, both through the RFP process and direct negotiations. Develop, revise, and negotiate PPAs, PURPAs, metering and other resource acquisition arrangements. Assist team with contracting external resources for various studies and expert support to help inform decision making, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.Transmission: Support transmission team with expansion of our transmission infrastructure, capabilities and capacity. Analyze business and collaboration structures. Work with industry partners to achieve common goals.Energy Trading: Review, edit, and negotiate gas and power trading agreements (WSPP, ISDA, NAESB), and assist with trading compliance matters.FERC: Related to transmission, work hand-in-hand with the business unit to maintain FERC compliance, filings, docket monitoring, and interventions, as necessary. Stay abreast of national FERC goings-ons for applicability to Avista business. Develop litigation strategy and supervise outside counsel, when more aggressive legal response is necessary.BPA: Monitor various Bonneville Power Administration activities, in particular the Residential Exchange Program, and relying on the expertise of our teams to inform our responses to proposed actions. Collaborate with industry partners to present mutually beneficial alternatives to BPA regarding proposed actions. Develop litigation strategy and supervise outside counsel, when more aggressive legal response is necessary.
