In the 25 years I was the President of my own busy permitting company in Austin, I always wanted to make time for travel but planning each trip took so much time. I was still able to fit a major international vacation periodically into my busy work life, and doing all of the planning on my own gave me an appreciation for the details. I then met the travel advisors at Departure Lounge, a Virtuoso Partner, and their services to plan my travel made life a lot easier and my trips more enjoyable. In 2021, I sold the permitting business I had founded 25 years earlier. It was then I decided arranging specialty travel is what I wanted to do for other busy professionals - and now I am an independent Travel Advisor with Departure Lounge, helping adventurers of all kinds find their next great experience!

ABOUT DENISE REID
As a Specialty Travel Advisor, I offer immersive, enriching Travel Experiences through Keith Waldon\'s Departure Lounge, who introduced me to his travel Agency when he built his first Departure Lounge, when I assisted him in getting his building permits and city approvals. Since then, I have followed his Departure Lounge growth and I\'m glad to now be part of it. Learning what his partners like Virtuoso can do with their connections around the world is motivation for me to become involved even more and share it! I have traveled to Sicily, the Amalfi Coast, Mt Vesuvius, Naples, Vancouver, Seattle, Toronto, Quebec City, Cancun, Costa Rica, Venice, Barcelona, Bordeaux, Florence, Paris, Munich, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bologna, Hawaii, St Thomas, the British Virgin Islands, all over the US, and more. Many of these trips, that I would have never considered to plan on my own, were with the assistance of Keith and his Departure Lounge knowledgeable team of advisors. My passion for photography, art, architecture, adventure, bicycling, and beauty have led me to several fun adventures! One was in Bavaria, outside of Rosenheim, where we Paraglided off a mountainside with a local flight master. The stories we can tell involving the bell-ringing local dairy cows are hilarious. Luckily, we were visiting during the Octoberfest season that helped us celebrate our landing! Long distance Bicycling has been a passion for me, the longest trip was a 6-day trip from San Diego up through the mountains of southern California, to circle back down the coast to the Mexico border before celebrating our San Diego return. Another 4-day bicycling trip in southern Louisiana treated us to great Zydeco music and tasteful Cajun eats. My most recent trip was a luxurious Tradewinds British Virgin Islands 7-day island-hopping cruise on a 59 ft catamaran that departed from Tortola, where we were catered to by a knowledgeable captain and co-captain, who shared in sailing, snorkeling, skin diving, entertaining, guiding us to fun beaches and party venues, and cooking 3 wonderful meals daily. For the active or the reflective, I look forward to being able to help others travel to experience the world! What kind of adventure can I help you plan?
