I\'m Joey Hateley, with the stage name The Gender Joker, in Manchester UK for 25+ years. My multi-art form performances and outreach educational collaborative work question borders and call for a world of intersectional politics of allegiance. As A.D. of TransAction Theatre, I create innovative cross-cultural \'performance from the periphery\' on issues of inclusion, diversity and empowerment. As a writer-performer-deviser and art-activist creating interdisciplinary work, I have collaborated with MIF, Go Drag! International Festival Berlin, Holly Revell \'People like Us\', LGBT History Month, IOU, RSC, FilmPro, Mothers Ruin, Homotopia, GlasGay CCA, Oval House London, AlbinoMosquito, Queer-Up-North, CAN, SpeakEasy, Contact Theatre, The Greenroom, BBC Radio4, Arnolfini, Hackney Empire, Wotever, Duckie, CasaTrans Ecuador, TransScripts, The National Theatre South Bank and The Young Vic. ACE funded projects include \'The Man-woman of Manchester R&D\'\'diRTy\', integrated with moving image and BSLI with InterPlay for DadaFest, devising Engendered Species with director Peggy Shaw (Split Britches) at The Drill Hall London and touring multi-media BSLI integrated show A:Gender across the UK, Australia, Belgium, Sweden, Canada Germany and USA queer arts festivals. As a freelance artist I have worked with numerous community projects, theatres, universities, performed and devised work with 100s of artists including Ron Athey, Franko B, Stacey Makishi, Jonzi D, Vag Davis, Rikki-Beadle Blair, David Hoyle, Penny Arcade, Del LaGrace Volcano and Diane Torr.\"Joey is a very talented performer; the most willing I have ever met to put their body on the line\" Peggy Shaw, Split Britches“Tender, playful, provocative, and visceral; a wonderful example of compassion and diversity in action”.
