About Trang Nguyen

I am the founder and principal of Ethos Advisors LLC, a boutique consultancy providing strategic advice, implementation support, facilitation, training and coaching to organizations and individuals seeking to strengthen their leadership, culture, values and ethics. My clients have spanned global development agencies, private sector companies, government entities, non-profit organizations, academic institutions and think tanks. I currently serve as the Chair of the Advisory Committee to the Washington DC Mayor\'s Office on LGBTQ+ Affairs.I was previously the Manager for Outreach and Training in Ethics and Values at the World Bank Group (WBG), the world\'s largest development institution providing finance and advisory assistance to developing countries. In that role, I led the revision and rewriting of the WBG’s Core Values and Code of Conduct across the Institution’s 130+ offices globally. I also oversaw the development and delivery of training and other initiatives that reinforce values-based leadership and an ethical culture. In response to the worldwide attention to the #MeToo movement, my team and I developed and delivered content for both web-based and face-to-face delivery of training aimed at addressing and preventing sexual harassment in the workplace to the WBG’s staff and consultants. In my last six years at the World Bank Group, I either led or significantly contributed to major corporate initiatives on organizational transformation, culture change, ethical leadership and leadership development. Prior to shifting my career to focus on corporate priorities, I held progressively senior positions at the International Finance Corporation, which provides finance and advisory services to companies in developing markets. Most recently, I was Global Operations Manager for Sustainability Advisory Services and prior to that General Manager for Advisory Services in Southeast Asia, where I managed complex, matrixed, global teams and worked in emerging markets. My responsibilities included team leadership, strategy formulation, business development, client relationship management, operations management, program design & implementation, research and monitoring & evaluation. My areas of expertise in development include sustainability/corporate responsibility, policy & regulatory reform, women’s empowerment, capacity building for small & medium enterprises and supply chain development.
