About Tracy Safran
Fostering a passion for learning has been my life\'s work. After many years as a dynamic, high-energy, enthusiastic teacher, I have boldly left the comforts of the classroom to seek fresh and exciting learning endeavors. I have taken my talents and skills in new directions in the education field, and am growing exponentially, both personally and professionally. My years of teaching have afforded me invaluable expertise in team building, presentation, management, administration, communication, and interpersonal skills. Teaching has taught me much about flexibility and how people learn. I, too, am always learning.Throughout my teaching career, I have excelled in all leadership roles, including District Coordinator for the Elementary Science Fair and Invention Convention. As a cooperating teacher, I mentored over 15 successful student teachers. I have been invited to participate on numerous curriculum writing teams, and for many years, served as a tutor in my district\'s Summer Reading Program. I have coached cheerleading, implemented reading tutoring programs, coordinated field trips, and assisted in school musical productions. I volunteered to participate in an amazing Cultural Immersion Project, and completed my own student teaching on the Tohono O\'Odham Indian Reservation in Arizona. What an experience!While teaching 5th grade, I was humbled and honored to be receive both the \"Trailblazer Award\" and the \"Pathfinder Award\" from college scholarship recipients who named me, their 5th grade teacher, as the most influential person in their education. I have successfully run three marathons with the Leukemia Society\'s Team in Training, and also volunteered as a Mentor for this outstanding program. As I love new challenges, I am currently on the path to becoming both a Black Belt and Instructor in ATA Taekwondo.In my current role, I continue to do what I do best: learn, and help others to do so as well.
