ABOUT TRACY THOMAS

Hi, I’m Tracy, and my passion lies in outdoor education, child-led learning, and holistic mental health. As the Founder of Nature Rangers, a nonprofit outdoor enrichment program, I am dedicated to helping children develop tools for lifelong mental wellness through immersive nature experiences. With a background in educational program development, camp counseling, and curriculum design, I have spent years creating nature-based activities that blend scientific discovery, creative expression, deep nature grounding and wilderness skills. My expertise lies in experiential learning models that allow children to develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and resilience—all while fostering a deep love for the environment. My professional journey has been shaped by my deep belief that nature is the ultimate classroom. Through year-round programs and summer camps, I have built a space where children engage in scientific inquiry, art projects, nature crafts, and hands-on investigations in a place-based, child-led environment.I hold a Master’s Degree from UC Santa Barbara and certifications as a California Naturalist, Forest School Teacher, and Board-Certified Holistic Nutritionist. Additionally, I have completed comprehensive training in Elementary Montessori, Environmental Education, Emotional Development, Wilderness First Aid, and Leadership.I am passionate about education, nonprofit leadership, and child development—and I’m always eager to collaborate on projects that inspire curiosity, innovation, and outdoor learning opportunities for children. Let’s Connect! Whether you\'re interested in outdoor education, nonprofit partnerships, or experiential learning models, I’d love to connect and share ideas.
