Provide skilled nursing care to women in the Labor and Delivery Unit and within the Operating Room environment. • Evaluate status, admit, prioritize treatment, and care for women and newborns during and post-delivery. • Administer oral, intramuscular, and IV medications to patients and monitor responses. • Utilize fetal heart rate monitors to watch for signs of fetal distress. • Prepare patients for and provide care during C-Section deliveries as well as provide post-op care. • Coordinate care with physicians and staff to prepare for treatment and carry out interventions. • Utilize computerized Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) and Electronic Health Records (EHR). • Liaise with staff, administration, patients, and families to ensure quality care and discharge planning. • Collaborate with care teams to enhance the continuum of care to deliver comprehensive services. • Ensure that nursing documentation is in compliance with JCAHO, state/local laws, and hospital policies.
