ABOUT TRACEY HUTTON

My love for teaching comes from a diversified background that includes my current position as a Learning Support Teacher in the North Vancouver School District, my private OG Practice of 1:1 diagnostic, prescriptive, and systematic remediation, in addition to working as an Orton Gillingham Practitioner for Reach Learning Centre.During the school day, I provide targeted class support in our elementary school Learning Assistance Centre for both small group and individual students for grades K-3. This extra early literacy support is given outside their classroom with direct and explicit remediation for language learning difficulties for both spelling and reading. Working at Reach for four years after school strengthened my skills as a 1:1 OG Practitioner both in person and online. Extending further, I have my diploma in Special Education and received my Educator Series Certification from the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation, both of which enables my ability to provide extensive support for behaviors that can make focus and learning a challenge for many complex learners.I am an active Associate of OG Canada, and continue my education through seminars and constant professional development. My favourite topics are currently studying cognitive neuroscience and its application to support my students with neuroplasticity using neurosculpting techniques. My newest personal passion is studying neuro-linguistics to enhance all types of learning.
