Responsible for managing & guiding the overall direction, growth, & impact of both the Detroit Bar Association & its Foundation. Strategic Leadership & Vision: Develop & implement a strategic plan aligned with the mission & objectives of the DBA & Foundation; Work collaboratively with both Boards to shape organizational priorities, set goals, & establish policies.Financial Management: Oversee the financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, & financial reporting; Identify funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, & fundraising campaigns to ensure financial stability & growth.Program Development & Oversight: Guide the development of educational programs, community outreach, & pro bono initiatives; assess & enhance current programs, ensuring they are relevant, impactful, and efficiently managed. Special emphasis on expanding pro bono services to include low bono.Board & Committee Support: Serve as the primary liaison to both Boards & various committees, providing guidance, support, & resources; assist in board development, recruitment, & training.Community Engagement & Partnerships: Build & maintain strong relationships with local courts as well as legal, civic, & community orgs to enhance the DBA’s presence & impact; act as a public representative promoting the mission & engaging stakeholders in community-building efforts.Operational Management: Supervise contract staff, managing day-to-day operations; & oversee technology, facility management, & other resources necessary for effective organization operations.Membership Development: Implement strategies to increase and retain membership, providing value & resources for member engagement; & respond to member feedback & needs, ensuring the DBA offers relevant services & a strong network for its members.Advocacy & Policy: Work with stakeholders to advocate for policies & practices that support the interests of the legal community; & stay informed about legal trends & challenges.
