Reviews completed fact-findings and consult with managers for proper disciplinary actions for the 1200 employees that work at the institution. Schedules, prepares questions and arguments for, and chairs Pre-Disciplinary Conferences that are required by employees\' CBAs and applies and approves the appropriate range of sanctions as directed by the facility Superintendent. Draft disciplinary letters when the Superintendent and/or the PDC panels recommend discipline for employees. Interprets and applies various CBAs for a wide array of employee relation matters and provides sound recommendations for resolving and/or preventing disputes between labor and management. Collects and presents all relevant information in the first step grievance meetings and recommends denial or settlement based on the findings. Also, attends the second step grievance hearings and presents management\'s arguments to a three-person panel. Acts as local Unemployment Compensation Coordinator by collecting all documents and evidence required to defend against unemployment claims, by testifying at unemployment hearings, and by staying abreast of unemployment law, policies, and procedures. Assist with job fairs in recruitment when needed.
