My role involves teaching undergraduate mechanical engineering courses to students from freshman level to seniors in mechanical engineering here at Mississippi State. I instruct lab classes and am primarily involved in the senior design course which facilitates collaboration between our industry partners and senior level engineering students. We partner student design teams with companies to implement engineered solutions to industry issues, helping both the company and the student simultaneously. Since I oversee and run the engineering machining and manufacturing shop in Patterson Lab on campus, I am heavily involved in the machining and fabrication of student-led design projects and assist them in the prototype creation phase. I provide instruction on how to use machine tools such as mills, lathes, and cnc equipment as well as consulting with students on the manufacturability of their final designs.
