ABOUT TOBY OSBORNE

I am an education leader and national charity trustee with a clear mission: to widen access, remove barriers, and create meaningful pathways into STEM and technology for young people. With senior leadership experience as an Assistant Headteacher across two schools, alongside trustee-level leadership within FIRST UK, I bring system-level leadership across strategy, governance, and delivery at scale. I have led complex change in education and non-profit contexts, balancing ambition with operational reality, accountability, and impact. At FIRST UK, I operate at both board and executive-adjacent level: shaping educational strategy and safeguarding practice as a trustee, while also providing regional leadership as a hub lead and team mentor. I have designed and scaled national programmes, developed resources used by hundreds of schools, and built cross-sector partnerships that engage underrepresented groups in technology. I work closely with public-sector bodies and industry partners to align funding, expertise, and delivery around shared outcomes for young people.Within schools, I have led whole-school curriculum innovation, staff development, and system improvement, raising standards while improving efficiency under tight financial and regulatory constraints. My leadership has been recognised nationally, including the Pearson Silver Award for Digital Innovation (2021) and the Tech South West TeachTech Award (2024).My focus is on strategic leadership roles that sit at the intersection of education, technology, and the non-profit sector-where I can set direction, build capability, and scale impact, ensuring programmes are rigorous, inclusive, and sustainable.
