About Tom Peplow

As a Principal Product Manager at Microsoft, I am dedicated to realizing the data mesh and lakehouse vision with OneLake. My focus is on creating an enterprise-grade, open lake that spans clouds and formats, enabling seamless integration and accessibility of data products. Data is the soil which feeds innovation and demands resiliency, high availability, scale, and security. Google made the world\'s information accessible, AI reasoned over it, but the data that underpins enterprises is locked in silos, holding back the potential of AI. I lead cross-functional teams to drive the innovation to solve these hard problems, currently focused on enhancing observability and compliance, and ensuring scalability to meet the needs of our largest customers. I am passionate about empowering customers and teams by fostering a diverse and inclusive culture within my team. I bring my experience from actuarial science, applying rigorous methods and approaches to OneLake, and leveraging diverse industry perspectives to drive innovation and precision.
