Performing effective community outreach I established this new community organisation, I took this from humble beginnings through to developing an organisation which now has charity status. Our mission is to ensure Global Majority / BAME communities in Greater Manchester have access to services have opportunities to realise their potential and access critical mental health provision as well as help them to overcome barriers to deliver equal opportunities and access to different activities and services. Leveraging my 15 years of experience in community involvement, I work with ethnic communities across the Greater Manchester region. Here, I develop and lead innovative programmes to enrich the lives of BAME / Global Majority communities across the region. We also make NHS resources more accessible and culturally appropriate, bridging the gap between cultural and language needs and NHS-produced literature on service provision. Using my project management expertise, I attract funding, find relevant funds and apply for projects. Upon successful allocation of funds, I manage each outreach programme from start to finish. This includes managing the budget, overseeing sessional staff and volunteers, tracking project success, evaluating the programme’s impact and delivering end-of-project reporting. I also manage the marketing of each programme to maximise take-up and value across the BAME / Global Majority community. Creating and delivering mental health provision programmes, including working with highly qualified mental health specialists to deliver well-being sessions for teenage girls and women and mental health first aid. This includes organising and project managing each sessional calendar to utilise the skills of experienced sessional staff as well as a team of mental health counsellors and well-being practitioners. Working with my Co-founder, we also build and roll out grassroots sports programmes for children and teenagers aged 6 to 16 years.
