About Toufan Parman
I am an experienced board-certified toxicologist with broad technical proficiency in chemistry, neurotoxicology, molecular and cell biology, pharmacology, and reproductive and general toxicology. As a result, I have the ability to integrate molecular and cellular approaches to assess pharmacological and toxicological outcomes for wide variety of novel therapeutics including but not limited to small molecule drugs, peptides, proteins, antibodies, and recombinant DNA. I have extensive expertise in developing and implementing preclinical plans in support of IND/NDA submissions for various modalities including small molecule and biologic drugs such as gene and cell therapies, vaccines, male and female contraceptives, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-cancer drugs, and drugs for treatment of neuro-degenerative diseases. I have successfully written and participated in submission of INDs. I have produced seminal results and contributed both conceptually and technically to my fields of expertise, as demonstrated by my publications in high-ranking peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Medicine, FASEB Journal, Toxicological Sciences, and Drug Metabolism and Disposition. At my current past position, I was responsible for managing 12 staff within 3 functional groups at SRI International. At Sangamo Therapeutics I have managed a group of 2-4 toxicologist.
