ABOUT TOSHIBA SMALLWOOD
Toshiba Smallwood grew up on the East side of Lubbock, Texas. With so many obstacles to overcome due to her environment, Toshiba has channeled that into passion and the reason she co-founded Transforming Visions to Dreams. As a survivor of mental, physical and emotional abuse, she knows firsthand that sometimes the underserved youth (particularly those of color and low socioeconomic status), have little to no support or outlet after traumatic experiences. Toshiba has a knack for listening without judgement and responding with love to anyone in need. She has vowed to help create change for our most vulnerable youth, young adults and their families. As the Co-Founder of Transforming Visions to Dreams and having 3 boys of her own, Toshiba is dedicating her life to working with the youth and helping them to realize their true value and reach their full potential. Toshiba is part of a great team of like-minded individuals whose sole purpose is to help this generation and the next make it in a world where the odds are stacked against them before the age of 18. Toshiba’s overall mission ranges from housing at risk youth, enhancing the lives of youth who have aged out of the foster care system, helping with homeownership programs and building generational wealth strategies, just to name a few! She is dedicated to ensuring that any youth experiencing the same or similar situations as hers, starts the journey to healing that she was not offered at their age.
