ABOUT VICTORIA TORY STINE

Tory knew she wanted to be a nurse from the age of 4 and started her career in high school as a volunteer for a Rescue Squad in Bethesda, MD and on the Pediatric Burn Unit at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, DC. During the summer months in college, she confirmed her continued passion in emergency care and pediatrics by working as a student nurse at Georgetown Hospital on the Pediatric Unit and in the ED. Over the past 30 plus years, Tory has demonstrated extensive experience in the field of Emergency Trauma Care and Pediatrics. After graduating with a BS in Nursing at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, Tory started her career in Baltimore at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital in the PICU. In 1994 she moved to Portland, Oregon and has worked at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Emergency and Trauma Services as a staff nurse and Trauma Nurse Coordinator/Educator. She took on increasing responsibilities and leadership opportunities including coordinating and teaching nursing education, project management, trauma system coordination and performance improvement. In 2019, Tory became a certified Legal Nurse Consultant where her specialized knowledge of Emergency, Trauma and Pediatrics helped bridge the gap between the law and healthcare. In 2009 her passion for medical mission work led her to become a volunteer and team leader in South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Haiti and Peru. In 2020 she accepted a job with Medical Teams International as the COVID-19 Program Manager and then pivoted by focusing on the development of the US Programs domestic Disaster Response Program. While staff at Medical Teams, she responded to the Ukrainian refugee crisis in Moldova as the nurse in a refugee camp.During the course of Tory’s professional career, she has demonstrated her dedication to teamwork, safe quality patient care, accountability, flexibility, problem solving and effective communication. She is a collaborative, motivated and adaptable leader with strong organizational and leadership skills. Her ability to handle dynamic and stressful environments is evident in both her passions and professional career.
