As Diversity and Inclusion Leader for Hispanics at IBM, I am tasked with a wide variety of initiatives, some of which include engaging employees to amplify success; acting as trusted advisor to IBM clients on D&I strategy; providing input on diversity strategies to Talent Acquisition; sharing thought leadership with internal teams; and reviewing programs and policies to educate employees and leaders. Notable highlights at IBM in this role include: • Organizing Hispanic Heritage Month 2021: A series of more than 30 celebratory and informative events. • Acting as an advisor in meetings with U.S. Senators and Congressional members in support of immigration reform legislation. • Founding an accelerated career-track program for high-potential Hispanic IBMers. • Rebuilding the Hispanic Executive Council at IBM, helping prioritize initiatives and develop a new high-impact agenda. • Bringing a business-like discipline and operational organization to the D&I office. I truly believe that diversity and inclusion are strengths.
