ABOUT TORI A. BAKER

I’m a cultural leader and advocate for independent cinema with a passion for building community through film. As CEO & President of the Salt Lake Film Society (SLFS), I’ve spent years transforming a regional arts nonprofit into a nationally recognized leader in film exhibition, education, and artist incubation.Under my leadership, SLFS has expanded its reach through award-winning programs like SLFS@Home, Arthouse+, and Oscar Nominated MAST (Media Accelerator Studio at MASTStudio.org). Programs include nonprofit operations and fundraising for cinema and artist/animation-focused initiatives that empower emerging talent and diversify the cinematic landscape.Whether preserving beloved venues like the 1928 Tower Theatre, championing global stories through curated film festivals, or producing Oscar-nominated work with Utah-based creatives, my mission is to ensure that cinema remains a powerful and accessible tool for empathy, dialogue, and cultural reflection.
