Alongside #1 NYT bestselling author and Emmy-award-winning producer Kwame Alexander, I develop, plan, and deliver online, on-location, and hybrid literacy programming for schools, libraries, and homeschool communities. This requires collaboration with non-profit and for-profit partners to bring top-tier authors to students to build engagement, excitement, and joy around reading and writing. Responsibilities include product development and scoping, project management, partner relationships, marketing and PR strategy and tactical deployment, budget planning, copywriting, scripting, event production, and more. This role draws on many of the skills I\'ve been developing in my career in nonprofit member organizations and in education publishing - and I\'m learning new skills every day. Bonus: This is the most fun I\'ve ever had in a professional role!

I want all children to realize the power of words, and my career has focused on supporting the adults who do the hard work of teaching kids to read and write.After two decades in literacy nonprofit and education publishing roles, I now work alongside #1 NYT bestselling and Newbery Award-winning author Kwame Alexander, who recently launched One Word at a Time. We are on a mission to ignite kids’ imaginations by making reading and writing irresistibly fun! Reading should be about more than test scores; it’s crucial to building empathy, strengthening conversation and critical thinking skills, and increasing mental health. We’re working to reverse the downward trend in reading for fun that starts in middle grades and stretches into adulthood. In addition to leading and developing a nonprofit, I am also a writer, editor, and writing coach. I live for stories! And I love helping writers.
