ABOUT TORI MAYERS

I am a Project Control Officer at CIBC with over 5 years of professional experience, and a Business Administration (Project Management) student at George Brown College. Having always been the group leader in school projects, I decided that becoming a project manager would allow me to use my passion for creative problem-solving to deliver high-quality projects that exceed stakeholder expectations. I am interested in project and product management, and real estate.In my current role at CIBC, I support project managers in Capital Markets Technology by facilitating cross-functional meetings, tracking project timelines, and documenting key milestones. Additionally, I develop and present comprehensive weekly project status updates to senior management, covering multiple projects across the portfolio to improve visibility and decision-making. In summer 2023, I had the opportunity to become an intern at Global Estate Agency, a prominent real estate brokerage in Barbados. I produced biweekly recap videos posted to their social media platforms with over viewers, authored compelling blog posts for future publication on their website and supported property showings and listing appointments while actively engaging clients and ensuring the highest standards of presentation.At the beginning of 2022, I co-founded MINT, a club at Queen’s College focused on educating secondary school students on entrepreneurship, personal finance, and career planning. As someone passionate about financial literacy, I was delighted to have approximately 40 weekly attendees who were eager to learn more about planning for their future. That year, I also interned at ICBL, a leading insurance company in Barbados, where I got the chance to contribute to the Policy Services team. I was delighted to be presented with an opportunity to gain experience in a successful local company. In 2021, I worked as an intern at Green Leaf Realty in Barbados, where I created a QR code scannable PDF to replace physical design books displayed at open house events. This was used by over 450 persons at an open house event and provided a safer way to view designs during the pandemic.
