Dr. Sun has over 25 years of experience in clinical practice, medical education, population health, and health plan leadership. He has published and presented widely on quality improvement, patient safety, and health IT. Dr. Sun has served on various state and national boards, such as the American Health Quality Association, Louisiana Association of Health Plans, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the founding board of the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum. He was Senior Clinical Advisor for the Payer Practice at Bearingpoint/ KPMG Consulting. He actively led the development of Louisiana Health Information Exchange and promoted adoption of health IT in the Gulf Region. He was appointed by US HHS Secretary and Governor as a member of the Louisiana Health Care Redesign Collaborative in post-hurricane redesign of healthcare system.
