As a dedicated leader and experienced professional in international science education, I focus on driving global environmental initiatives through strategic leadership and community engagement. With over a decade of experience leading The GLOBE Implementation Office, I’ve worked with international organizations and partners, educators, and students to foster environmental awareness and data-driven research.Key Contributions:Leadership and Engagement: Focused on empowering communities, building trust, and increasing participation in large-scale environmental programs, such as transforming GLOBE’s annual meetings into inclusive events for a broader community, fostering international research collaborations among students.Data and Community Growth: Spearheaded technological and programmatic improvements that increased monthly data entries from 500K to 1.5M, enhancing community engagement.Servant Leadership: Emphasized a leadership style that supports and uplifts communities, ensuring that their voices and needs are central to the programs.Strategic Planning: Led the creation of community-driven strategic plans to ensure long-term, impactful progress.My career has been shaped by a deep connection to nature and a pioneering spirit in environmental education. Key milestones include: Being the first secondary school student at school in Ireland to submit an environmental project for a national science exhibition; Writing and publishing a teacher’s handbook on environmental activities, which was distributed in internationally in libraries; Participating in expeditions, including an audit of flora in northern India and co-leading wilderness trips in the U.S; Serving as the first education applicant for a NOAA Policy Fellowship, where I contributed significantly to The GLOBE Program; Founding member in the Kerry Ambassador Program, launched in 2022 to engage community and industry leaders in Irish tourism. Throughout my career, I have balanced my work with a joyful, community-focused approach, believing in the importance of humor and connection.With a strong background in both environmental science and education, I seek a position that leverages my Community Engagement & Program Strategy skills and expertise while offering new challenges.
