In 2015, I set up a record label, Released, to help build a framework for Leeds electronic music artists. It then grew into a record shop in Leeds Corn Exchange, now a thriving independent Leeds staple which attracts diggers from all over the country. We have over records in stock, a radio station in store, and people queuing out of the door on Record Store Day. I’m a talking head on the vinyl revival and use the shop as a platform to showcase our own music on the label.The skills and experience I continue to develop with the label and shop are- promoting artists- video production and promotion- manufacturing- buying and selling music- e-commerce- digital distribution of music- mastering- project management- events- marketing.Released has also allowed me to finetune the vital skills required to successfully run a small business – things like staffing, budgeting, tax, rent, utility bills, PAYE, National Insurance, pension schemes, payroll, tax returns, website maintenance etc. The thing that really lights me up about running this record label and shop, though, is that it’s kept me musically up to date with current trends in the industry, and kept me networked with a whole eclectic bunch of artists, music press and radio companies, distribution outlets, music publishing contacts and more. From pitching our artists’ music for films and TV adverts, to managing the PRS and design of album covers, I work across it all.

ABOUT TONY GREEN
My last day job was Operations Director at Dowsing & Reynolds, a Times Top 100 Growing Company. I was there from the beginning 10 years ago, packing vintage lightbulbs from a semi-detached house and selling them on eBay. We grew rapidly from zero to £10million and turned into running the leading ecommerce business from a ft HQ in South Leeds with over 60 staff and product lines. Ally Dowsing-Reynolds recently described me as like “a conductor of an orchestra…he’s a bringer together of people”. Before Dowsing I spent 15 years fulltime in events and promotions manager and DJ. To keep myself around this passion of music and people in the Leeds arts community I opened a record shop in Leeds 2018 and started a record label working with Leeds electronic artists.I have vast experience with creatives, small business and operations to help people and business\' achieve their goals.I have an address book full of tricks and useful contacts across the arts and business. My wife owns a successfull PR agency, my eldest son is a videographer and makes music, my dad was a famous footballer, my mum was a gardener and youngest son is an 8 year old ball of energy.
