The job of Chief of Staff and Communications exists for the purpose/s of directing the district\'s public relations and communication activities; building relationships with parent and community organizations; responding to FOIA requests, leading and managing strategic planning projects, and coordinating media and community relations events, including crisis communications. The role and function of the Chief of Staff and Communications is to supervise on a constant, ongoing basis, the translation of the district’s Mission, Vision and Values into actions that positively impact the entire D205 community. The Chief of Staff and Communications assists the Superintendent substantially and effectively by providing leadership in developing, supporting, communicating, aligning, calibrating and maintaining the highest quality educational experience. The Chief of Staff and Communications reports to the Superintendent and supports a culture of collaboration that results in a shared vision for District Success, as well as opportunities to gain relevant and timely feedback from our community.The Chief of Staff and Communications is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and progress assessment of the initiatives in Elmhurst School District 205. This position monitors the work of cross-functional teams charged with the work of aligning all instructional and operational systems to support the academic success of all students and provides expert guidance on organizational structure, change strategies, project management, and advise the Superintendent on day-to-day operations.
