ABOUT TONYAE S. BUTLER
I am a senior Pre-Medical student at Alabama A&M University, majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology, and an incoming Master of Health Science (MHS) student at Meharry Medical College (Fall 2026). My journey into medicine is rooted in a deep commitment to equity, access, and the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life from the very beginning. I am passionate about pediatric health and preventive care, with a focus on addressing disparities that continue to impact underserved communities. Through my experiences in clinical settings, research, and public health, I have gained firsthand insight into gaps in healthcare delivery. From supporting patient care in hospital environments to contributing to research on health disparities and community-based interventions, I have developed a strong interest in bridging medicine with public health to create more effective, people-centered solutions. My work also extends beyond traditional clinical pathways. As the Founder & CEO of Mini Med Explorers, I develop STEM-based tools and educational resources that introduce children to health and medicine early, helping them build confidence, awareness, and a sense of ownership over their well-being. I believe early health education is a critical, yet often overlooked, foundation for long-term health outcomes. I am particularly interested in the intersection of pediatric medicine, neuroscience, and community health, with a focus on how early intervention, education, and advocacy can shape healthier futures. As I continue this journey, I am committed to becoming a physician who not only provides care, but also advocates, educates, and contributes to building a more equitable and accessible healthcare system.
