In this newly created role in the Office of Clinical Research, I am a member of the leadership team and have responsibility for strategic development and oversight of research administration services across UNC Health. My role advances the research mission by enhancing operational efficiency, reducing risk, and fostering institutional competitiveness through policy development, compliance leadership, and stakeholder engagement.Key Responsibilities:• Serve as a principal advisor to university and health system leadership on research policy, regulatory compliance, and administrative strategy• Lead the creation and implementation of a centralized research administration services unit to support departments, centers, and institutes• Oversee grant submission processes, research contract management, and effort reporting to ensure timely and compliant execution• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and institutional policies to streamline research administration workflows• Drive process improvement initiatives to reduce administrative burden, enhance service delivery, and mitigate risk• Promote internal engagement through training, proactive support, and cross-functional collaboration• Monitor institutional metrics to evaluate performance, ensure data consistency, and support continuous improvement• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align research operations with strategic goals and funding opportunities
