About Tony Scarzo
Over my international career, I have learned to embrace diverse views and have been lucky enough to have the support of world-class companies, enabling me to hone my management skills in not only the United States but also in China and Sweden. While working for Electrolux, I was lucky enough to have lived in China for 3 years, running the Small Appliances project office. The next stop was Sweden, as Project Office Manager at corporate HQ. There, I enhanced my work towards global process improvements and continued my travels to enhance alignment amongst our global team. During this time, I gained valuable business insight by interacting with Management of all levels on a daily basis - in multiple locations globally. This led to a position change into the group\'s \"Process Manager\".I then had a great opportunity to get my MBA, with a focus in entrepreneurship at Bradley University. This exposed me to a vibrant community of start-ups in the Midwest, and gave me the opportunity to reflect on my experiences in the corporate world and see how the start-up mindset could be applied to improve performance. Coincidentally, my company had just purchased a start-up in San Francisco, which gave me the perfect opportunity to become part of this world and get first-hand experience in how a start-up can evolve and interact with a corporate parent. I then became Head of Program Office for Anova Culinary, a super cool company in San Francisco that is a new part of the Electrolux family. The experience at Anova was amazing and provided valuable startup style experience to counter my corporate background. I was then able to use my previous experience in order to build up a project office as Director of Project Management for an amazing, 373 year old company (yes…not a typo) called Fiskars. The newest adventure takes me to the world of power generation for an amazing, fast-growing company called Generac. This company is really working to keep families safe and secure by providing reliable energy backup solutions, and so much more. I look forward to being a part of this movement! The best part about becoming an expat and then working in vastly different companies is you learn that just because you are accustomed to doing things one way doesn\'t mean it is the only, or best way. I continue to learn to look at problems from several different viewpoints in order to see them through multiple lenses, and hopefully obtain a better understanding in doing so.
