Hennepin County Emergency Communications provides 911 Emergency and Non-Emergency services for 39 cities located within Hennepin County. This includes dispatching for 27 Law Enforcement Agencies, 24 Fire Department\'s and coordination with 4 EMS providers within our service area. In addition, Hennepin County Emergency Communications Technical Unit maintains portable and mobile radios for departments within Hennepin County along with maintaining a radio subsystem off of the State of Minnesota\'s ARMER radio system. Oversee emergency dispatch operations to ensure compliance with applicable national standards, protocols, and procedures in public safety dispatch. Research, recommend, and implement long-term plans and goals for the division regarding facility, equipment, staffing, and training needs.Oversee the management of divisional budget to include: approving major purchase orders, monitoring division expenditures and preparing the annual divisional budget; overseeing capital improvement projects; evaluate staffing needs and reallocate personnel to meet office objectives. Collaborate with Hennepin County Sheriff\'s Office Communications User Advisory Board (UAB), committees, vendors, Hennepin County departments, dependent public safety agencies, and stakeholders to seek input, provide information, build solid relationships, and advance the needs and goals of the Hennepin County Sheriff\'s Office Communications Division, its partners, and the residents that we serve.Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of service provided to Hennepin County residents and deploy innovative technologies and practices to keep Hennepin County at the leading edge of public safety emergency communications.
