About Tony Kao
Have 20+ years in software development focused on quality and automation, and being a data visualization leader. My experiences include building up an end to end automation lab from the ground up, migration of automation tooling and test code across all teams in a large organization, and strategically leading teams with roadmap built from extensive customer interactions and analysis. I believe firmly in using data to inform business decisions, both externally from our customers, and internally from our tools and processes. My expertise in building data visualization dashboards have helped multiple organizations understand quality gaps and implement changes to improve customer experience and product reliability.

Transitioned to the engineering role, and moved to the organization within Tableau that is focused on product quality, and work on the necessary tooling for analysis of customer related issues.Primary focus is on identifying Tableau quality-related issue that impact customers through detailed Custom bugs analysis. I build dashboard that show bug trends for both internal and customer-related bugs, test failure and coverage gaps across the development organization. I work directly with customers to understand, identify and mitigate quality-related concerns for product adoption. Partner with product development teams, customer support and account reps to analyze Customer Bugs data, identify coverage gaps, and work on closing that gap.
