Department head responsible for comprehensive communications and advocacy strategies covering media and political efforts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Promoted from manager to director in less than three years after demonstrating consistent success for organization’s mission in each key area. Initiated advocacy campaigns achieving a line item in the Pennsylvania state budget grew to in 2016 and 2017, a budget resolution in New Jersey,and a grant-in-aid in Delaware which grew to in 2016, as well as ALS Awareness days in each state. Garnered positive media attention in television, print, radio, and internet outlets in Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Lehigh Valley, New Jersey, Delaware, Scranton and other outlying areas, which were used for successful fundraising campaigns. The diverse regions of the Chapter geography meant responding to dozens of media requests during the Ice Bucket Challenge, which lead to positive media attention in subsequent months. Managed a YouTube page that has reached over views, a Facebook page that increased from 700 fans in 2011 to 5,100 in 2017, a Twitter account that went from 400 to 2,900 followers and active on Instagram, Vine, Snapchat, and Pinterest. Wrote and helped in designing monthly email blasts, biannual newsletters, patient services brochures, press releases, web content, youth newsletter, and had a hand in nearly every outgoing communication from the chapter to assist with development. Developed key relationships with media, federal and state legislators, and donors.
