I am responsible for care and development of the World Cultures collection at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery. This is a Designated collection of some objects from the four main continents, which reflect British colonial interests abroad - Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania. 20••••12 major museum redevelopment and Collections Review work. Developing relationship with the University of Exeter. Initiated research into museum collection of East African beadwork.Designation Challenge Fund - 2004-6/ 2006-8 This period of initial collections research led to a collaborative AHRC-funded PhD on Richard E. Dennett collection 20••••11. I acted as the non-academic supervisor.Leverhulme International Network grant 2013 - with Dr. Alison Brown (project lead, University of Aberdeen) and Dr. Anita Herle (Cambridge CUMAA) examining Blackfoot collections and engaging with Blackfoot partners in Alberta, Canada and Montana, USA. Designation Development Fund (DDF) 2014-16 - Discovering Worlds - transformation of the Pacific displays with fresh interpretation and to display more objects in store. Themed according to the works of Tongan scholar Epeli Hau\'Ofa.DDF 2016-18 Discovering Worlds: Africa. Displays subtly talk about Britain consuming parts of the African continent.DDF 20••••22 Discovering Worlds: Americas. In development.Human remains returned to New Zealand (2005) and Australia (2006), and currently negotiating with Blackfoot (Siksika) partners for the return of ceremonial regalia.Role also includes project managing temporary exhibitions among many other activities.
