   First career was with the NYC Board of Education as a Teacher of Spanish and Remedial Reading; School Reading Supervisor; and then District-Wide Reading Coordinator. Ms. Roberts left her career in Education for the corporate world where she held positions of Corporate Communications Writer; International Sales, Marketing and Promotional Copywriter; and Audiovisual Producer and Sales and Promotional Copywriter. Ms. Roberts later branched out on her own as a Consultant Public Relations and Sales Promotion Writer. As an independent, Freelance Consultant, Ms. Roberts brought her skills and talents together in the design and facilitation of a Self-Empowerment and Creative Expression Workshop Program serving incarcerated women; pregnant teens, survivors of domestic and sexual violence; women in recovery; and women in the general population seeking to better their own lives and those of their families and communities. Roberts co-founded and coordinated the Bronx WritersCorps and worked in Arts-in-Education and Afterschool Education as a Teaching Artist, Museum Educator, Teacher Trainer, Workshop Designer and Facilitator; and Program Manager.Roberts served as a Mayoral Appointee to the New York City Commission on the Status of Women and founded and facilitated WomanWrite, a support group for women writers. She has published articles, poetry, artwork and photography in print and online venues; and compiled and edited anthologies and children\'s books. Currently: in private practice as a Life Skills & Spiritual Coach/Creative Expression Specialist, Awards: Three Fiction Awards (BRIO) and a Fiction Writing Fellowship from the New York Foundation on the ArtsEducation: Completion of 40 Hour Core Curricular Course; Consciousness Development Program; The International Academy of Consciousness, NYC Master’s Equivalent from Herbert H. Lehman Graduate School, Bronx, NY; and the National Education & Defense Act Institute at Iona College, New Rochelle, NY
