I have taught a wide variety of courses within the Communication Arts Languages & Literature Department and for the School of Business. Classes include Media Writing, Public Relations, Communications Theory, Issues Management, Strategic Communications Campaigns, Analytical Writing and Rhetoric, and Business Communications. I am also the host of KBUT\'s West Elk Word, weekly community affairs program and podcast. I write occasional news and features for local newspapers and magazines, with the entire Gunnison Valley as my beat.Adviser: Top O\' the World, Western\'s student newspaper.As a teacher: Strive for a dynamic, engaged, experiential learning environment within my classroom.As a journalist: Strive for thorough, accurate reporting, telling stories that not only inform but present possible solutions to ongoing community problems whenever possible. Journalism philosophy: Adhere to the three Cs- Correct, Concise, & Clear. Above all, be interesting.
