Provide assistance to the software design supervisor for all software design activities.*Oversees and coordinates all on-site and field software engineering and integration activities.*All projects must be supported on behalf of the Business Unit Manager from inception through completion of program.*Supports and assists in the selection of controls outsource software design resources.*Creates and nurtures a teamwork environment and supports or participates as project team member.*Assist in the development and organization of the department, including department goals, schedules, and project budgets.*Focuses on customer requirements. Ensures that minutes are taken at all customer meetings, gives necessary presentations to the customer and supports content negotiations with the customer.*Ensures engineering compliance in reference to customer specifications.*Ensure department awareness to specifications.*Assists in maintaining departmental standards, forms, work instructions, job descriptions, and procedures.*Ensure that designs and integration / debug efforts are cost effective and supports the Director of Applications Development on profitability.*Develop goals and measurables to sustain and ensure department accountability.*Assist in the proposal process in the estimation of software design and integration labor hours for upcoming projects.*Take part in project line-Up meetings, gathering information relevant to department planning and resource management.*Take part in the internal and customer buy-off process.*Responsible for the investigation and implementation of new technology in the industry and able to suggest new and innovative ways to apply it.*Develops new and cost effective methods for better efficiency within the department.*Adheres to the Quality System and participates in continuous improvement.*Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
