About Tona Trondsen
Tona Trondsen is the founder and CEO of Workplace Safety Screenings (WSS), a Houston-based enterprise offering a complete roster of health and safety screening services. Born in Norway to a ship captain and raised in Houston, Trondsen’s unique insight into the maritime industry has helped her to develop a community-oriented business that remains responsive to the needs of its partners – such as WSS’ early implementation of the International Seafarer Vaccination Program to administer more than vaccinations for seafarers passing through the US Gulf Area. As WSS celebrates ten years of success, it is joined by Trondsen’s newest venture, Port Health Medical Services. Port Health is a comprehensive, full-service medical support solution helping international seafarers access health services on board and in port, ensuring crews stay on budget and on schedule any time or day of the year. Ms. Tronsden has a BA in business management from Le Tourneau University, a Master’s in intercultural studies from Southeastern College, and is an alumnus of the Goldman Sachs Small Business Program. She is a certified professional collector trainer (CPCT) through the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA) and is a breath alcohol trainer (BAT). She believes strongly in giving back to her community, through extensive involvement in youth mentorship programs in both non-profit and traditional companies and active support of local community organizations.
