About Tom Welle
Since I was young, I have had an intense desire to understand how things work. This often led to hours and hours exploring a device, machine, or process. Eventually that curiosity turned into building things which led me down the path that I am on, starting my career in maintenance and troubleshooting but quickly moving towards building and improving machines, controls, and processes. Early in my career I found the greatest fulfillment in performing the tasks at hand – building a control system, making a machine run more efficiently, or improving a manufacturing process. I have always been very detail oriented and develop task plans for not just large initiatives, but even for the small projects. Eventually I found myself helping others learn how to do those tasks and found a greater joy – one of empowering other individuals and leading the way for them to complete a project. Serving others by supporting their needs, clearing obstacles, and helping them find solutions has become a passion that fits my personal purpose “To support and encourage others to unlock their full potential”.Following are highlights of my experience:• Leading project teams up to 100 internal personnel and 20 vendors/contractors.• Managing programs and projects with budgets up to $18M.• Manage equipment, infrastructure, and production development programs/projects.• Prioritizing and managing capital budgets up to $6M.• Create project management standards for our organization.
