About Tom Swartwood
As the inaugural Entrepreneurship Fellow for the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship at ISU, I develop and support entrepreneurship and innovation programming with a focus on startups, family businesses,arts entrepreneurship and women entrepreneurs. Our programs are accessible to people across the state, I also conduct entrepreneurship classes in the Ivy College of Business at ISU. where I help students from across campus start things.I practiced corporate law for a few years, tired of the paper chase, and went to work on Wall Street raising money for development stage companies. Part of a team that acquired a Midwest-based firm; moved to Des Moines in \'94. Completed more than 20 IPOs. Now a proud part of a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem centered in the Des Moines metro area and reaching across the U.S ionto Mexico, Cananda, Africa, and Belgium, France and Germany.
