About Tom Rickettson

I am a third-year real estate attorney at Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP in Rochester, NY. My practice focuses on commercial transactions spanning the United States and the State of New York, financing, leasing, renewable energy, title insurance, and land use. Prior to my current position, I spent three wonderful years at Penn State Law, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. While in Happy Valley I had the pleasure of interning as a judicial clerk with the Centre County Court of Common Pleas under the Honorable President Judge Pamela Ruest. I did extensive research and drafted opinions covering a wide range of topics including Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know law, family law issues like equitable distribution and child custody, as well as criminal issues involving the 4th Amendment\'s protections regarding searches and seizures. I also served as an Associate Editor and then Articles Editor for the Penn State Law Review, which culminated in the publishing of my comment - Blinded by the Leash: Strict Products Liability in the Age of Amazon. Finally, I worked for Penn State\'s Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic where we helped entrepreneurs, startups, and nonprofit organization with issues such as entity formation, founder and initial investor agreements, and operating agreements.
