About Tomoya Mori
I work at the intersection of science, technology and business. As a Business Design Lead in IDEO\'s Play Lab, I apply the principles of play to strategic thinking to inspire the next generation of businesses. Before joining Play Lab, I worked in IDEO\'s Tokyo studio as a business designer for 4 years. Some exciting projects I\'ve worked on with my colleagues and clients include- Designing and prototyping a writing support for students and teachers using AI technology Launching a research lab to co-create Mirror World (https://gemin1.xyz/en/)- Envisioning a human-centric future of space travel (https://spacetravel.ideo.com/)- Supporting entrepreneurs to refine their service to connect tennis players to available tennis courts across Japan Before IDEO, I worked at ispace, a Tokyo-based space startup aiming to commercialize lunar exploration, where I was responsible for building business development strategies and establishing communication channels across global partners, customers and media. I am also an active freelance science writer, and have written about space exploration for Space.com, Air & Space Smithsonian Magazine and WIRED Japan. I grew up in the US, Japan and Switzerland. I graduated from Brown University with a degree in Astronomy.
