Lead the development and execution of the facility’s maintenance and reliability strategy, directly supporting operational goals for safety, uptime, cost control, and asset performance in a unionized, 24/7 salt mining operation. • Oversee all surface maintenance operations, including workforce scheduling, backlog management, PM compliance, and storeroom/procurement functions. • Drive performance in key reliability metrics: OEE, asset availability/utilization, defect elimination, and reduction of reactive maintenance. • Implement and enforce safety programs, regulatory compliance, and company policies across all maintenance and contractor activities. • Manage and mentor a multi-trade team of mechanics and electricians while coordinating with production, engineering, and shaft/hoist departments. • Own continuous improvement efforts using RCA and data-driven planning to reduce downtime and optimize equipment lifecycle. • Support the development of the annual maintenance budget; monitor costs, forecast resource needs, and control expenditures. • Serve as strategic backup for Hoist and Shaft operations, ensuring seamless coordination across critical infrastructure.
