Within the Health Department’s Health Systems Quality Assurance Division, I serve as a senior-level consultant on medical licensing for military veterans. To this effect, I engage the full scope of my military and healthcare expertise while serving as a subject matter expert and advocating for the removal of licensing barriers. Highlights of my contributions include: · Developing a new health professions guide on the provision of civilian equivalent health credentials to transitioning military professionals, with 600+ credentials issues to service members and 2.6K+ to family members to date. · Assisting the Western Washington Area Health Education Center (WWAHEC) in securing a $5M grant to assist transitioning veterans in receiving credentialing. · Aiding the State Boards of Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTCs) in receiving $1M to bridge the medical assistant gap through credentialing of military medics, with 150 beneficiaries thus far. · Representing the agency on matters of high visibility and sensitivity, including during engagements with workgroups from the state to federal level.
