Managing a team of over 70 elite professionals, I provide direct oversight of the day to day engineering, operations, architecture, constituent support and fiber infrastructure of MCNC\'s North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN) and MCNC\'s security operations. NCREN provides world class data, video, fiber, and data center services to K-20 education, public/non-profit healthcare, and government networks all over the state of North Carolina. NCREN provides service to all of K12 through managed connections to 115 local education agencies and 200 Charter Schools in North Carolina, the 58 community colleges that are part of the North Carolina Community College system, as well as all 17 members of the University of North Carolina system, and nearly 200 healthcare organizations. NCREN is operated on an owned fiber optic based network totaling over miles throughout the state of North Carolina.
